MR CLEAN’s 24th official selection

There’s life in the MR CLEAN short yet! We just found out that we’re an official selection of the SEVRED LIMBS FILM FESTIVAL 6: THROW ANOTHER HEAD ON THE BARBIE! which sounds like a perfect festival to enjoy a bit of gore among horror friends. And best of all it’s going to be free! Many thanks to Neal Jones who is running the festival.

That makes it the 24th official film festival selection for our multi award winning horror short MR CLEAN. Wow!

IMPRINT wins its 10th award

IMPRINT wins its 10th award, at the first year of the Indie Movies Spark Film Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands. I can’t believe that the short horror script has done so well and I am very grateful.

Also this week, IMPRINT was selected and placed in the semi-finals of the Chicago Horror Film Festival – the judging for that festival concludes at the end of September, so fingers crossed. That would be a great festival to travel to, if any of us can do that. But there will definitely be an online aspect to the festival. We can’t wait.

In other news, now that the 2nd vaccine dose is complete, I hope to tap the 5G super powers to help get BLÖDA written. I am 40 pages in… and counting…

Awards time – IMPRINT and MR CLEAN

IMPRINT picked up two awards this week and MR CLEAN picked up another – thanks to the Cairo Indie Short Festival and Rotterdam Independent Film Festival. Awesome. And very much appreciated.

This means that MR CLEAN picks up its 9th award and IMPRINT now has 7 awards.

This is great news, and made up for a few more festival rejections this week.

A festival update and more

We’re very happy to announce that IMPRINT and MR CLEAN are both award nominees for the Rotterdam Independent Film Festival. And IMPRINT has also been selected by the UndergroundIndieFilmFestival. In fact we were lucky enough to enjoy some amazing films as part of that festival last night. You guys missed out if you didn’t attend.

We’re awaiting the results of the Rotterdam fest – which I think are announced June 20th. But congrats to the team behind PATRON which won “Best experimental film

Also, work on BLÖDA, the Pagan horror feature is going well. The main story beats are plotted. Now I’ve just got to finish off the character breakdown and write the damn thing. 😉 But I’ll be really happy to share the way I’ve been working on this, when it’s all done. Definitely have been enjoying a lot more mind-mapping and writing by hand, to get the creative juices flowing.

I’ve had some computer issues, one where I’ve needed to re-install my editing machine software, to fix a crash after installing a recent plugin. Got a little more work to do on that to free up some space on the drives too. But hopefully soon I can resume work on TUMBLE DYING again. Luckily, despite my system crashing, no data was lost. Just the time to fix it. But I definitely had a brown trouser moment when I first saw the black screen of death.

IMPRINT’s 12th selection

Golden Screenplay Competition - quart finalists 2021 screengrab
Imprint is a quarter finalist

My dark horror short screenplay IMPRINT has been selected and made it through to the quarter finals of the Golden Screenplay Competition – making it into the top 9% and beating GAS! – which sadly didn’t make it through, despite glowing feedback on the script. This makes 12 festival selections now. Let’s hope it makes it through to the next stages of competition.
