Festival update

This week has been quite the roller coaster on the festival circuit. Three rejections for MR CLEAN, a selection but no placement for GAS! to a prestigious screenplay festival, and then COMFORT HIM, MR CLEAN and IMPRINT all did well in a festival in Slovakia, Kosice International Monthly Film Festival.

Firstly, COMFORT HIM was a finalist in the Super Short Film category. The same week that it also surpassed 11K views on Twitter.

MR CLEAN won Best Horror. That’s award number 8.

And IMPRINT, an old script that I have completely reworked, won Best Short Script. It’s a brutal, dark short film that is my tribute to those horror fans that would chase down the most extreme cuts of the nastiest films and what becomes of one horror fan when he comes into possession of a very unique tape. I decided to put it into festivals, to see if there’s any interest – after two previous attempts at producing it fell through.

That’s excellent news and very much appreciated! Thank you so much to #KIMFF / Kosice International Monthly Film Festival.

Also, I am writing a new feature script. I’m 38 pages into it. More details on that when it’s done. And Darwin and I met and discussed two potential new shorts. More details on that when we know more.

Yes! We took DON’T FORGET TO BREATHE on the road and finally had our film premiere – for this short domestic abuse film. And surprisingly, although the trip did not entirely deliver on everything that we had planned to achieve, it more than delivered for the premiere and promotion of the film. And we had some truly surreal memories of the trip.
