We’re very happy to announce that our hygienic serial killer short MR CLEAN is an official selection of the 4th Dimension Independent Film Festival in Indonesia – the same festival that IMPRINT recently won an award at. This makes it the 25th festival selection. Nice.
Also, the SEVERED LIMBS FILM FESTIVAL 6: THROW ANOTHER HEAD ON THE BARBIE! screening of MR CLEAN and 30 other films is this weekend. The official lineup is HERE. And the live event will be screened on the official youtube channel.
I’m also pleased, as it was killing me, to finally announce that I’ve finally finished scripting the 3rd feature script of the year, for a feature-length pagan horror project entitled: BLÖDA (aka ‘The Bleeding’).Soon i will be giving it a read, and trying to work out what needs fixing, as well as checking in with some trusted friends and fellow writers / filmmakers, to find out what they think of the project, but also, as I’ve already begun assembling some props, I’ll be working out when and in what form I will make this feature film. My desire was and still is to shoot it this autumn. However, that may not be reasonable or feasible. But we’ll see, more on that soon. For now, I’m just super happy to tick that one off the whiteboard as being done… for now.
It was a hard script to write. I was already burned out after the last two. I was working long hours. I got my second dose of the Covid vaccine, had a rough time with the symptoms, and then a resurgence of Shingles as a result of my immune system being weakened and run down. Nice. So Instead of the allotted 4 weeks, this took 6 weeks to write, due to having to take a week and a half off, and actually take a couple of evenings off for my sanity, to see friends and help my relationship. It’s weird, knowing the story you want to write, and having zero energy or fuel in the fire to get it done. But again, 2.5 average pages a day, in anything from 1-2hrs slots, is enough to get it done. Although there’s still much in the way of pre-production to even be sure of going into production, and more work to do on the script until I will be happy with it I’m sure. But for now, I’m very happy to have gotten this far. And for all of the support.
