The short script for IMPRINT has made it to the finals of the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF) in the ‘Best Short Script’ category. It’s incredible, but great news that the short script is doing so well with 27 selections, numerous awards and festival placings. I know competition is tough, but fingers crossed.
And in other news, we’ve begun discussions with some potential cast members and are looking to progress the project and edge it towards development / pre-production.
IMPRINT is now an official selection of the Red Moon Film Festival – this is the 27th festival selection. Also, IMPRINT has been officially selected and is now a finalist in the ‘Horror Short Screenplay’ category at Be Afraid Horror Fest in Gorizia, Italy. Winners will be announced towards the end of November.
Yet more festival news to share – we’re so very grateful for such kind treatment from festivals, especially as we have had a few more rejections too.
Firstly, the dark horror short screenplay for IMPRINT has been officially selected to the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF)! That’s great news, as it’s the 25th selection! and it is the same festival that has already selected and bestowed awards upon MR CLEAN and COMFORT HIM 60. So fingers crossed that this script makes it further into the competition. And congrats to the other selections! We hope to meet you all at the screening in Arvika, Sweden.
COMFORT HIM has also been put through to the finals of the 4th Dimension Independent Film Festival in the Best Experimental Film category. That’s also great news, because MR CLEAN and IMPRINT also won awards at this festival and it’s the 23rd festival selection. So fingers crossed that this film also gets screened live in Indonesia / makes it through to the winning selection. Congrats to the other finalists!
A couple of things happened for our dark comedy microshort COMFORT HIM – which are very cool. Firstly COMFORT HIM is an official selection of the 4th Dimension Independent Film Festival in Indonesia – which you may remember, is the same festival that selected and gave awards to MR CLEAN and IMPRINT – so fingers crossed there. And congrats to the other official selections.
And then this morning, I noticed that a scream queen and horror movie legend Kelli Maroney (of NIGHT OF THE COMET and CHOPPING MALL fame) liked our film on Twitter. Very cool indeed.
I know it’s a small item in the scheme of things. But the whole idea was to get the short out there, get it seen and for it to get so many likes and views has been very rewarding. And so to get it liked by someone very well known and someone who you’ve spent many hours watching their work, is very cool indeed.
Congrats to the team! You’re awesome. Couldn’t have done it without you.
Also, why celebrate such things? Because yesterday was plagued by technical issues that sucked my available time. And this whole week has been one huge time suck. Such times are very demotivating. So to get a small ‘W’ here and there, is enough to keep one going for a little longer. Because each little ‘w’ is one reminder that someone out there cares for what you’re doing and is enough to put a bit more fuel in the tank to resume your quest and create another thing. One step closer to potentially achieving that goal…
