This morning, I woke up – after a much appreciated good night of sleep – to the news that our unproduced dark horror short script for IMPRINT has been selected and put through to the semi-finals of the Sell Your Screenplay Six-Figure Screenplay contest. That was a lovely surprise, as I’d actually forgotten about submitting. And that’s 23 selections so far.
You can also read the list of semi-finalists here: Announcement
That was pretty cool. Definitely.
But then… before I even had the chance to announce that, and the fact that it had just been confirmed as an official selection at another fest, we then learned that MR CLEAN had picked up it’s 13th award, for ‘Best Short Film’ at the Red Moon Film Festival. That was most unexpected and very much appreciated.
It’s been a very good week and we’re extremely grateful. Thank you very much.
The world war one short horror screenplay for GAS! is now an official selection and nominated for an award in the Short Script category at the Kurdistan International Independent Film Festival. This is great news! It’s only won 4 awards to date, but it will be interesting to see if this could be a chance to pick up a 5th award. That event takes place on the 10th october, so it will be good to see how it does. Congrats to the other finalists!
In a most surprising turn of events, MR CLEAN has won Best Horror at the Swedish International Film Festival (SIFF) I don’t mean it’s surprising because it’s not good, because it is a good little short – but because it had been rejected by a Danish fest the same week, just like the other Scandinavian fests to not put it through to official selection. But we had already been blessed with a win for COMFORT HIM, so to pick up a second award from the same festival was a doubly great honour. Really can’t wait to attend the special live screening event in October.
This means that MR CLEAN has picked up it’s 12th award. Thank you so much to everyone that took a chance on the film, and especially to SIFF for breaking the curse of being ignored by other Scandinavian region film festivals.
I was super chuffed to learn that IMPRINT had been selected and is a finalist at the FREAK SHOW HORROR FILM FESTIVAL in Florida. Sadly due to conflicting events, I’m not sure I will be able to attend in person when the event occurs on the 30th and 31st October and the judging concludes. But I’m super happy to be in the running and congrats to the other finalists!
However, IMPRINT has also been selected to the CHICAGO HORROR FILM FESTIVAL and you can read it and the other official selections, and watch all of the films now in the online event – and make sure to use the discount code – the code BLOODY can be used to save $5 off the All Access Pass.
