This is great news, and made up for a few more festival rejections this week.
IMPRINT, the horror short script, has done well this week. It made it through to the Semi-finals of the Golden Screenplay Competition as well as Florida Shorts in the ‘best unproduced script’ category. Both festivals aren’t done judging yet. But it’s great news that the screenplay has placed in some more festivals. 🙂
Also, as a result of the Golden Script placing, I got a new badge on Coverfly. That was nice. I’m very grateful. It’s good news while I’m writing this current screenplay for BLÖDA. Have a great weekend everyone.
Find out more about IMPRINT here.
We’re very happy to announce that IMPRINT and MR CLEAN are both award nominees for the Rotterdam Independent Film Festival. And IMPRINT has also been selected by the UndergroundIndieFilmFestival. In fact we were lucky enough to enjoy some amazing films as part of that festival last night. You guys missed out if you didn’t attend.
- MR CLEAN – Nominee – Horror Short – Rotterdam Independent Film Festival – I think this might be the 23rd selection
- IMPRINT – Nominee – Unproduced script in short – Rotterdam Independent Film Festival – this is the 14th selection
We’re awaiting the results of the Rotterdam fest – which I think are announced June 20th. But congrats to the team behind PATRON which won “Best experimental film“
Also, work on BLÖDA, the Pagan horror feature is going well. The main story beats are plotted. Now I’ve just got to finish off the character breakdown and write the damn thing. 😉 But I’ll be really happy to share the way I’ve been working on this, when it’s all done. Definitely have been enjoying a lot more mind-mapping and writing by hand, to get the creative juices flowing.
I’ve had some computer issues, one where I’ve needed to re-install my editing machine software, to fix a crash after installing a recent plugin. Got a little more work to do on that to free up some space on the drives too. But hopefully soon I can resume work on TUMBLE DYING again. Luckily, despite my system crashing, no data was lost. Just the time to fix it. But I definitely had a brown trouser moment when I first saw the black screen of death.
My dark horror short screenplay IMPRINT has been selected and made it through to the quarter finals of the Golden Screenplay Competition – making it into the top 9% and beating GAS! – which sadly didn’t make it through, despite glowing feedback on the script. This makes 12 festival selections now. Let’s hope it makes it through to the next stages of competition.
The London Indie Short Festival selected the short script for IMPRINT to their competition this month and also have placed it as a semi-finalist, although the judging isn’t done yet – so fingers crossed that it might progress further. But we’re very happy that the script has made it into competition.
Are there any interested producers out there – keen to see this dark short horror film get made???? – let me know. Especially as it has been noted in other awards, as a strong proof-of-concept for a feature film or TV show concept.-
